FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For the smoothest travel experience, we suggest that you pack light. The flight from Narita to Hokkaido has low weight limits with checked and carry on luggage. This will be explained thoroughly in the emailed itinerary once you have booked your trip.

HOW Many bags should i bring?

Travel insurance is mandatory for all our travelers and must be purchased at the time of booking. You’ll need to get it when you book your trip. It should cover personal accidents, medical bills, death, and even emergency repatriation. We highly recommend adding cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, and loss of luggage coverage too. On the first day of your trip, you must provide your travel insurance policy number and the insurance company’s 24-hour emergency contact number. You won’t be able to join the trip without these details.

If you have travel insurance linked to your credit card or bank account, please ensure you have the details of the participating insurer, the insurance policy handy, instead of the bank’s name and credit card info.

Do i need travel insurance?

do i need to be in good shape to enjoy the experience?

Our tours are great for anyone who’s in decent shape! Before you choose a tour, please take a good look at the ability guide and itinerary. This will help you figure out if you’re up for our travel style and how you’ll handle the trip. Some of our trips take us to remote spots with limited medical help, so it’s super important to be in good health. Things like altitude, cold weather, delays, unfamiliar food, and different customs and cultures can also be a bit tough on your body. Just a heads-up, you’ll need to carry your own bags on the mountain. If our guides or local guides think you might not be able to finish the tour safely without putting yourself or the group at risk, RESET Tours can decide to exclude you from the whole trip or just part of it, without giving you a refund. Before you go, it’s a good idea to chat with your doctor about the latest medical travel tips or any shots you might need. We also suggest bringing a first aid kit and any personal medical stuff you need (like a spare pair of prescription glasses or contacts), since you might not be able to easily get them where we’re going. Just a note, our guides can’t give you any drugs, like headache pills or antibiotics. Make sure you’re all set!

What should my snowboard level be?

Every tour is unique! You’ll notice that each tour specifies the minimum skill level needed. If you’re unsure, just give us a call. Our tour experts are happy to help you find the right trip that matches your skill and snowboarding preferences.

Riding in a small group is the way to go (especially in Japan)! With only 8 guests on the trip, we break you up into groups of four, along with your guide, so you won’t be stuck in the ‘stop-and-wait’ line that slows down bigger groups. Instead, you’ll keep moving, stacking more laps, and making the most of every storm. We also make sure you’re matched with people who have similar skills. Whether you’re chasing tree lines, dropping pillows, or lapping groomers between powder hits, you’ll be with a crew of people who want the same kind of day you do.

why ride with a small group?

what are the snow conditions in asahikawa?

The snowboard season in Hokkaido is from late December to March, with January and February being the best months. During this time, Hokkaido’s famous cold weather gives us light, dry powder day after day. It’s not heavy or wet, it’s that fluffy snow that just keeps piling up. Asahikawa gets hit by consistent storms all season long, so you can count on fresh snow and great skiing, without any worries. Cold? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely!

Private rooms only. Every guest, will have their own room to RESET, unwind, and relax. We know how important some solo solitude can be after a long day of riding.
